In the early 1960's my Father purchased something that changed my life forever. . .A Polaroid camera. It was rather strange in appearance, but it was the latest and greatist in technology at the time. You could snap the shutter, and in seconds out came a picture that slowly developed in front of your eyes in just a few minutes! It was a like having a portable darkroom. Magic! That camera was a springboard into the next decade when I bought my first 35 mm SLR. As they say, the rest is history.

All Creatures Great & Small
Animals, including insects, amphibians, reptiles, dogs & fish, all catch my eye. It must be the multitude of colors or the textures of their skin or feathers or fur, or it could be that with the assistance of the zoom lens you can get closer to them than you could without, so I look forward to opportunities to go to zoos, wildlife preserves, parks or swamps. You literally never know what you might capture with every trip where such creatures could be present. I have accumulated a few during the past twenty five years or so, from a couple Tasmanian Devils to my best friend; Reggie the Jack Russell terrier.

Strictly Florida
The Sunshine State of Florida affords a photographer a never ending pallet of landscapes, wildlife and tropical scenes that are indigenous to the area. Because of the rapid change of weather fronts, the evening skies provide dramatic views to capture through your lens eye. Inter-coastal waterways provide some great rustic places to photograph as well. All in all Florida offers the photographer a plethora of images to capture through the viewfinder

Candids
Candid Photography is very powerful tool in your arsenal. It takes stealth-like skill to go undetected when using your camera. There is a time and place for everything, but what you get with candid shots is an unadulterated image capturing people in their pure natural state. Lots of emotions can come into play - from the angry woman who tried to take my camera to someone enjoying a cat nap or a homeless man walking the streets of the city. All in all candid images give you a real sense of accomplishment in what you do and how you do it.

Down On The Farm
No, it's not the Little Feat classic song (which is one of my personal favorites) but I wanted to share actual images from what I consider Farm stuff. Yes, I live in the Central Florida area which encompasses 1.8 million people, Disney World, Universal Studios, Sea World, and Gatorland. (yes Gatorland), but all throughout the great state of Florida are small farm towns that make interesting photography. Most are cattle ranches, but there are Horse Farms, Strawberry Farms and a few Chicken Farms as well. Without further ado, I take you down on the farm.
